“Magoo” super excited for Round Two

Great start to the inaugural Suzuki Series at New Zealand’s International Circuit – Hampton Downs for M1Motorsport’s cool, calm and collected rider; Australian Linden “Magoo” Magee.

Linden Qualified 4th on pole, it rained just prior to the first F1 Race of the day  – absolutely bucketed down.

The race was declared “wet”, so changed tyres to ‘wets’, it was a big call.

Linden realised out on the warm-up lap that a lot of the track had dried out, so ended up in 12th position and bought the BMW home in one piece, in fact all international racers struggled with their tyre choice.

Linden rode the Valvoline sponsored BMWS1000RR out in the second and final BEARS Race (British European American racing class) and convincingly dominated the BEARS field, from start to finish.

F1 Race 2, Linden caught a great start off the start line. Finding himself caught behind Kiwi Scott Moir – Linden  pulled a bold pass past on the tight left handed dipper hairpin to get past and was away into third place, securing third for the final race of the day.

“I had a really good first weekend with the M1 Motorsport team and really enjoyed my first visit to New Zealand, I found everyone so friendly. We worked well together as a team and improved the BMW at every session over the weekend to suit my riding style.”

“I enjoyed the challenge of learning a new track and had a heap of fun on M1Motorsport’s Valvoline sponsored BMW S1000RR.

I’m super excited for Round 2 of the Suzuki Series at Manfeild and believe we have a good chance at winning in F1, with our lap times and race pace very close to the front guys by the day’s end.”

To say we’re stoked with Linden’s performance at Round One of the Suzuki Series – one of the most anticipated race events in New Zealand’s race calender  is an understatement – hitting the ground running, flying in Thursday afternoon for his first ride on the Valvoline sponsored BMWS1000RR at an unknown track.

The next exciting round is coming up fast, this weekend, at Manfeild.

It is free entry for spectators, so it will be great to see some more of our supporters there.
