Young blood debuts Superbikes.
August 21 – M1Motorsport in conjunction with our long term Sponsors and Partners, are thrilled to announce a new direction this season, with the new face for Valvoline sponsored M1 Team, 25 year old Christchurch man; James Hoogenboezem.
Stepping up to the Superbike class on-board the Tauranga based M1 BMW S1000 RR from 600 Supersports, James returns to the 2016 season already acquainted with NZ’s competitive Road racing format.
Having previously competed in the New Zealand Superbike Championship in 2015, narrowly losing 2nd place to Toby Summers in the 600 Supersport class by a mere 7.5 series points.
“I’m very excited about this great opportunity. I can’t wait to go and do some testing and get up to speed with the M1Motorsport BMW.”
“Really looking forward to being a part of the team and stepping up to the challenge of riding a Superbike this year.
Thanks to the M1Motorsport team and Sponsors for giving me this fantastic opportunity.”
“I’m quite excited to look to the future, with the development of James and a change of tyre suppliers” Team Manager, Robert Ramshaw commented.
“ I love a challenge, if we can accomplish our goals and see James pick up a podium or two, I’ll be a happy man and I have every confidence with our Race package, our support and a strong team that our goals are achievable for this season.”
